The Wines I'll Remember from 2024

Disclaimer most of these are totally inaccessible, but hey - this is NOT a gift guide!

I’m estimating I tasted around 1,500 wines this year. What does it take for a bottle to stand out? Well, most of the time it’s the context in which I tasted it. The majority of the wines I taste are while I’m at work, and most often, those are the “finest” wines I come across. You’ll notice none of those wines are on this list. The context in which I taste them is academic, professional, efficient, and none of those things are what make a wine pleasurable or memorable. These 6 wines, in no particular order, were the most pleasurable and most memorable wines of my year, mostly because of the context in which I enjoyed them.
